St Bernard’s way of Safeguarding

Our St Bernard’s way of safeguarding is taking our lead from Pope Francis; embracing the advice he gives us and the example he has set on being inclusive. To become a parish community which is pastorally, spiritually, wonderfully alive and safe.

Make a financial contribution

Catholics in Bacchus Marsh and surrounding districts have built up the parish of St Bernard’s over 150 years. Our church, school, presbytery and resources are the fruit of the generosity of parishioners. Your financial support provides for our priests and enables the parish to actively and effectively proclaim the Gospel of Christ in Bacchus Marsh.

Parishioners are encouraged to support the two major areas of parish expenditure in regular and one-off contributions:

Parish Stewardship. Contributions to parish stewardship enable St Bernard’s to carry on the mission of Christ in Bacchus Marsh. Stewardship contributions support the activities, lay staffing and maintenance costs of the parish.

Priest Support. Our priests live directly from our support. Contributions to priest support provide for priests’ food, car and other living expenses. Small portions of these contributions also support the Archbishop, retired priests and priests in poorer parishes.
